SUMMARY: Responsible for building/maintaining vendor relationships and monitoring performance to ensure great service to our customers.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Vendor procurement to include cold calling and web based tools. Onboard new vendors, to include admin items and contract management. Assist with vendor portal training as new vendors are onboarded. Provide vendors with scorecards and host weekly/monthly meetings to discuss performance. Create and analyze KPI's/ reports for various metrics that are critical to vendor management. Work closely with operations to identify needs as it's related to vendor development. Act as liason between vendors and field support team/operations to help resolve areas of concern. Act as escalation point for all vendor related issues and assist in resolution. Host bids to vendors and procure new pricing as needed. Stay abreast on current issues surrounding the transportation industry and identify potential impacts.
EXPERIENCE: 1 year or less experience in truck dispatching import/export transportation, customer service, negotiations or other related experience.
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, Power BI, and Teams. Proficient in SalesForce or similar CRM platforms preferred.
COMPETENCIES: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously while meeting assigned deadlines. Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Ability to perform accurately in a detail oriented environment. Ability to gather, interpret, report and use data and other information concerning assigned activities. Ability to function effectively with, or as part of a team. Skilled in preparing clear and concise documents, including but not limited to reports, procedures, correspondences and other written materials. Knowledge of the concepts, principles and practices of import forwarding and customs brokerage in a domestic and/or international capacity.
