About the Job

Engage in development and implementation of eCommerce strategy and business solutions to facilitate online transactions with customer. The director of ecommerce is responsible for collaborating cross-functionally to manage and direct all aspects of the ecommerce business. This includes strategizing, planning, developing and executing content plans, overseeing the generation of promotional materials and campaigns, monitoring performance analytics, website traffic and product performance.

Responsibilities and Day-to-Day View

Engage in development and implementation of eCommerce strategy and business solutions to facilitate online transactions with customer. Key Roles and Responsibilities: Analyze business requirements, propose solutions, and oversee eCommerce projects. Work closely with marketing, sales, service/support, and Web design and development teams to ensure that eCommerce solutions support business strategy and integrates with website. Identify projects, develop business cases, and manage aspects of projects from concept through to implementation. Oversees the implementation of eCommerce projects for effectiveness. This position requires knowledge of website design in order to translate business needs into an online experience that ensures a high quality customer interaction in all customer touch points. Directs the development of company eCommerce programs and overall website strategy to maximize the brand presentation, consumer experience and support the integrated digital strategy. Manages the research, analysis, and monitoring of financial, technological and demographic factors, and designs plans to capitalize on market opportunities. May oversee website strategy and design for promotional programs, new functionality/capability, for digital products or services. Responsible for resource allocation, including budget and personnel. Manage the work efforts of supervisors and individual contributors with responsibility for hiring, firing, performance appraisals, and pay reviews. Works closely with senior managers on departmental issues. Wide latitude for decision making.


Education: Bachelors required or Advanced degree preferred.

Experience: Typically requires ten or more years of experience and at least five years of management responsibility. Previous eCommerce experience required.
