Arcadis seeks a Staff Roadway Engineer to join our Mississippi Roadway Team remotely in the Jackson, MS area.

Position responsibilities:


  • As a Staff Roadway Engineer, you will assist the development and design of infrastructure projects for roadways, including intersections, collector streets, urban arterials, rural and urban expressways, interstates and interstate interchanges.
  • You may also be required to perform different roles on multi-disciplined projects including planning, technical design of minor project, production lead, task leader and assisting Project Manager and lead engineers.
  • Project development working as an individual or through team efforts to assist in developing project scopes and budgets, interfacing with and maintenance of client needs for the Project Manager, mentoring and development of junior staff and design/drafters, development of project plans and maintaining project schedules and ensuring project compliance with all Arcadis practices including quality and safety standards.

Key Attributes:

  • Planning and/or Engineering experience with infrastructure, which may include environmental document preparation, traffic analyses and studies, cost estimates, technical reports, hydrology/hydraulics, construction plans and project displays.
  • Proficiency with CAD particularly Microstation, OpenRoads, InRoads, GEOPAK and AUTOCAD.
  • Familiarity with MDOT design standards and policies.
  • Interpersonal and client facing requirements will require someone with excellent, clear and concise, oral and written communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to contribute information to meetings, assist with effective client presentations and prepare written reports and meeting minutes.
  • Must have the ability to work on multiple unique assignments simultaneously.
  • You should also have strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills and be a self-motivated, team-oriented and flexible individual who possess the initiative and ability to tackle new projects, challenges, and concepts.
  • Prefer experience in a client facing role, either as a team or individual, making presentations and managing client expectations.

Required Qualifications:


  • 4 years' experience which includes experience on MDOT projects
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineer
  • EIT with ability to obtain MS Professional Engineers License within a year.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active participation in regional and/or national professional associations.
  • PE
