Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. has a job opportunity for a full time Administrative Assistant in Norfolk, VA.
Summary: The Administrative Assistant will assist in coordination and administrative support related to US Naval ships inactivating or decommissioning for a US Navy command.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinated updating Government documents such as Instruction updates related to decommissioning of US Naval ships.
Develops and drafts US Navy correspondence, such as detailed Decommissioning Guidance messages tailored to specific disposition methods that will be employed for a ship decommissioning.
Coordinates other commands such as Naval Regional Maintenance Centers (NRMC) to establish decommissioning availabilities to prepare ships for inactivation or hot transfer.
Assist in the development of program briefs, position papers, draft and edits policy papers for CNSL.
Maintain a historical database/tracker for all ships decommissioning and transfers.
Attend meetings with OPNAV Ship Inactivation and Disposition conferences. Coordinates with internal stakeholders to develop and provide CNSL recommendation and inputs to the Planned Decommissioning, Dismantling and Disposal appendix of the Department of the Navy's annual Long Range Plan for construction of Naval vessels.
Provides weekly administrative support to the DECOM manager in directing and overseeing compliance with the installed equipment/system removal redistribution process. Validates requesting agency requirements and compares those requirements to the current removal guidance. Coordinates with OPNAV, NAVSEA and the NAVY IPO to adjudicate and resolve equipment removal issues not already specified.
Assists in coordinating, providing guidance to subordinate activities and Naval Regional Maintenance Center (NRMCs) and depot activities conducting surface ship inactivation and or decommissioning availabilities.
Must be proficient using Microsoft Office, especially Word, Notepad, Excel and PowerPoint.
H.S. Degree or G.E.D. required at minimum.
Must have an ACTIVE SECRET level security clearance
Pursuant to the various government contractual requirements, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens
Four (4) years Naval Experience preferred.
Knowledge of naval messaging and correspondence is preferred.
Must be able to work in an office environment.
May sit or stand for long periods of time.
