This role sits within the Credit Risk Management (CRM) Global Risk Policy Team, which reports to the COO for CRM and operates independently of the regional credit teams. The policy team forms an essential component of CRM's governance and change agenda and interacts with senior leaders across multiple subject areas throughout the firm.

The successful applicant will assist the Director of the policy team in maintaining and developing policies and standards, interpreting regulations and performing self-assessments, providing thought leadership on the improvement of key aspects of risk management governance and processes, coordinating high-profile policy-centric regulatory and strategic projects involving multiple business partners, delivering credit risk policy training to the organization, and supporting rating model governance and development. The committed applicant will be encouraged to quickly familiarize themselves with the managing organization and key drivers of the policy agenda, operating with minimal oversight in leading projects and as an effective deputy to the Director of the team. •Build approach of getting-it-right-first-time and encourage a behavior of continual learning and improvement.

  • Equivalent work experience of at least 7 years with credit at a large commercial bank or investment bank.
  • Equivalent experience in CRM in a policy, credit analysis or credit approval capacity in wholesale credit and counterparty CRM.
  • Experience managing cross functional projects. Involving employees from multiple subject areas within a banking context (e.g. risk management, front office, internal audit, finance, technology, operations, etc.).
  • Detailed understanding of key Global and US centric regulatory topics (such as CRD IV / CRR, Basel rules, leveraged lending, counterparty credit risk, country risk, stress testing).
  • Outstanding knowledge of the Investment Banking lifecycle and products.
  • Outstanding understanding of Loans and Derivatives and relevant documentation.
  • Detailed knowledge of credit ratings, exposure and loss concepts.
  • Familiarity with Private Banking and Wealth Management product offerings is preferred!
  • Familiarity with the Interagency Guidance on Leveraged Lending (SR 13-3) is preferred!
  • Strong communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail oriented, with the ability to efficiently multi-task.
  • Ability to work well in a team-focused setting.
  • The preferred candidate should ideally possess a graduate degree (preferably in finance, accounting, or economics).
