Schneider Electric has an opportunity for a Sales Manager in the Chicago Area.

This position will lead the BAS and Security sales teams and is responsible for sales forecasting, managing the sales team efforts, and business development for the service sales department. This position is also responsible for ensuring that the department goals for booking gross margin and volume are achieved.

What do you get to do in this position?


  • Assist sales personnel in identifying and qualifying prospects and opportunities throughout the sales life cycle
  • Manage and forecast sales team pipeline
  • Develop and foster end user client relationships
  • Interview, hire, train, evaluate, and when necessary, terminate sales personnel
  • Contribute to department or division strategic planning
  • Prepare performance evaluations and set sales personnel goals
  • Assist in the development of departmental budgets
  • Provide development, coaching and mentoring to Service Sales Team
  • Work with Systems and Service Operations managers to achieve flawless execution and support of projects
  • Review cost estimates and approve margins
  • Set strategic goals for the sales team and branch growth
  • Manage customer satisfaction
  • Identify and participate in industry networking and outreach events

This job might be for you if:


  • Bachelor's degree with a business or technical discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Ten (10) years experience in the building automation and security space
  • Three (3) years supervisory experience
  • Experience selling direct to owner with general contractor and consultant relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent mathematical and financial skills
  • Strong understanding and interest in modern technologies (BAS/Security/IT)
  • Capable of reading architectural and MEP/FP blueprints
  • Proficient in Salesforce or other CRM software
  • Positive and collaborative attitude
