Position Summary

The Cigna Medicare Sales Operations Specialist will be responsible for working across multiple functional areas within Sales Operations, including Affinity Management, Digital Solutions, Sales Support, Contracting, Enrollment, Reporting, and Agent Resources.   In collaboration with internal constituents, this person will manage ongoing and new operational projects identified to improve the quality and efficiency of Sales Operations, ensure partner satisfaction and simplicity of doing business. The Sales Operations Specialist coordinates with business partners to ensure needs are met and potential problems are averted.  This individual is responsible for keeping management and business partners informed of escalated issues and issue status.

The individual will implement strategies aligned to Cigna Government Business focus areas: achieve customer growth goals, develop/deliver affordable solutions, build strong and diverse teams in an inclusion environment, and partner effectively across the enterprise to create value.

Achievements are dependent on partnering with multiple constituents, which include enterprise operational teams (including but not limited to Marketing, Branding, Compliance, Sales Integrity, Enrollment, and Operations Effectiveness) and sales teams. This is accomplished by building and maintaining strong peer relationships along with suggesting and implementing best practices to facilitate best solutions to optimize sales processes and services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Promote a customer-centric atmosphere that is open to and builds upon new ideas and solutions.

  • Implement best practices as a result of compliance, policy, or requirement changes to facilitate best solutions and methods which will optimize operational processes and drive efficiencies.

  • Identify the needs of and resolving issues from the various functional areas with Sales Operations (Affinity Management, Digital Solutions, Sales Support, Contracting, Enrollment, Reporting, Agent Resources) in a timely manner.

  • Collaborate with Cigna Medicare Agent Resource Team to research and reconcile plan change records and identify opportunities for improving processing quality and efficiency.

  • Oversee operational updates and ongoing initiatives amongst the team to share for transparency across other business partners with the Sales Operations newsletter.

  • Provide support to Operations team through coordination of meetings, capturing key updates and takeaways, and tracking daily status and timelines for new or ongoing initiatives. 

  • Manage and track ad hoc process improvement projects as needed to champion Sales Operations across the segment (IFP, Med Supp, PDP, etc.) or enterprise (Commercial, Dental, etc.), and improve processing efficiencies.

  • Partner with multiple constituents, which includes enterprise operational teams (Marketing, Branding, Compliance, Sales Integrity, Enrollment, Operations Effectiveness, etc.) and sales teams to maximize partner satisfaction.

  • Gather best demonstrated practices of implementation efforts from internal stakeholders to constantly improve and challenge status quo of processes.

  • Keep management and the team informed of status, trends, and potential opportunities through regular report-outs.

  • Analyze processes and performance results to drive improvements for future implementations.

  • Raise concerns/issues to ensure they are properly addressed in a timely manner.

  • Have the courage to offer alternatives instead of simply saying “yes” to ensure win-win across all parties.

  • Respond to inquiries, using independent judgment and funneling issues to appropriate teams as needed.

  • Remain compliant with all company and governmental policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Encourage constructive dialogue with others in an inclusive manner, ensuring diverse perspectives are considered to drive innovation.

QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelors preferred; High School Diploma required

  •  Strong computer skills required (Microsoft Office Suite products preferred)

  • Ability to manage and effectively communicate timeframes, expectations, and requirements with various types of new and existing customers/clients

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and proactively seek opportunities for improvement

  • Adaptable, flexible, and able to manage through change in a fast-paced environment

  • Goal oriented, resourceful, personally accountable and self-directed

  • Innovative mindset for identifying and creating awareness where new approaches/solutions are beneficial

  • Data analytics experience preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills preferred

  • Process-oriented with organization and planning skills among competing responsibilities and tasks
