Senior UI/UX Software Engineer at Cigna in Austin, Texas

Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and talented hands-on Senior Software Engineer who will work in a Ruby on Rails and Node environment. They will help guide the backend development team to continue building out APIs and services, aimed at aiding the over 30 million uninsured patients at the pharmacy counter.

The ideal candidate would be well versed in the challenges and complexities involved in building scalable and robust applications. This person would work with the team to design and implement a world class solution, with stability and scale in mind. Most importantly, they would thrive in a fast paced & collaborative culture. You will be helping to grow Inside Rx, a prescription savings card startup fostered within a Fortune 22 company.

Required Technical Skills and Experience

At least 3 years’ experience as a development lead or higher individual contributor position
Good proficiency working with Ruby on Rails, specifically around API interfaces and ORM
High understanding of complexities around web services, and how to make them scale with high availability
Comfortable stepping into the Unix CLI to perform maintain utility functions.
Experience defining, guiding, and setting standards across teams Experience working with relational databases, ideally Postgres or MySQL.
Have worked in an Agile environment, and are familiar with SCRUM and/or Kanban Ability to work in a cross-functional environment where team members wear many hats
Have participated in code review process, and have proven record of providing constructive feedback to the team, peers and leaders
Has worked with AWS environments, or other cloud infrastructure

you know how to set-up/maintain CI/CD pipelines
you are familiar with the Atlassian suite (JIRA, Confluence)
you are comfortable with pair programming.
