Summary:
Reporting to the Director, IT TVM, the Technology Vendor Management Senior Analyst aims to be the primary point of contact for IT vendors for maintenance renewals and professional services. This role will lead and support IT's management and execution of our support agreements and required renewals, working transversally with IT, purchasing, finance, and legal functions to support the vendor management discipline for technology at Seagen. The role is tasked with ensuring technology and business requirements align to specifications and priorities, while mitigating increased technology costs. The position requires with arbitration and negotiation with Technology vendors, legal representatives and business partners. The role will act as a trusted advisor to IT's business investment strategy; and a mentor and consultant for junior peers. The Technology Vendor Management Senior Analyst must have experience with technology planning and budgeting as well as familiarity with effective vendor and supplier management strategies will all be critical to the success of this contributor and influencer.

Principal Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the IT Functional Leaders, members of the PMO, Procurement, Purchasing, Legal, as well as cross-functional groups outside of IT
  • Participate in IT financial planning and other leadership meetings to ensure alignment in technology run rates and to help advance IT performance overall
  • Define and continuously improve maintenance management processes, including internal SLAs, responsible parties in the defined workflow, elements of managing vendors, required due diligence, recommendations, and how stakeholders are informed
  • Manage and provide leadership and guidance to the IT Department on maintenance renewal roadmaps, including a governance and decision-making framework
  • Educate personnel, in the creation of pricing, and the creation of guidelines of labor consultant vendors
  • Ensure the appropriate commercial terms are included, while ensuring timely execution of final agreements. Agreement elements should include, but are not limited to: Service Level Agreements, data security/privacy, CCPA and GDPR regulatory requirements, DR/BR, implementation milestones, deliverables/requirements, early termination conditions, etc.
  • Identifies appropriate relationships in conjunction with internal customers and vendors to drive proper alignment on business and operational requirements
  • Support the cost savings strategies and initiatives to achieve financial and productivity objectives
  • Create multi-year plans that defines when renewals are due; the HW depreciation schedule; & licensing metrics to begin negotiations within logical timing. Includes having a negotiation strategy for the renewals based on usage forecasting and the vendor sourcing strategy
  • Create necessary metrics and required information to monitor and document vendor performance to be delivered through business reviews and vendor scorecards
  • Apply fundamental knowledge of IT functional area to the vendor marketplace and support the evaluation and selection of suppliers for assigned services lines, as aligned with IT's plans and Seagen objectives
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent and diverse communications to effectively reach all groups and all levels of leadership
  • Prepare, lead and provide guidance through renewal strategy development with IT management
  • Manage ongoing complex projects, complex outsourced relationships, people or a sub-function
  • Work cross-functionally and with IT management and leadership of partnering organizations
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience with technology contract negotiations, with emphasis on maintenance renewals, consulting and professional services
  • 10+ years' experience in Technology Vendor Management, related Technology Management or Technology Program Management with heavy third-party service provider or supplier management
  • Minimum 10 years vendor experience managing vendor relationships
  • Extensive experience managing stakeholder relationships
  • Define and lead the negotiation strategy and approach for assigned services to govern the selection, evaluation, cost & price details for selected vendors
  • Track record of significant savings with contract negotiations
  • Ability to align key technology vendors with specific project initiatives
  • Strong verbal and written ability with the English language
  • Proven track record in supporting executive alignment and strategic vendor management for technology vendors
  • Experience with working with international/global organizations
Education:
  • BS/BA from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience required
