We are looking for an experienced Principal DevOpsEngineer to join our team. You will use various methods and data engineering technologies to manage more than one hundred cloud components on our cloud server platform. You should have strong skills in managing microservice clusters by networking the services with different online video streams, database, messaging components, CDN and API Gateways. This job also requires familiarity with cloud server logging, security and privacy protection to manage API and database accesses.
Managing Deployment of Microservices in Google Cloud
Create release plan with management team and developers.
Merge the needed changes in GitHub to create release builds
Manage the revisions and dependencies
Manage/automatedeployment to staging and production clusters
Managing Deployment of OTT streaming platform with Amazon Web Services
Proficiency and proven hands-on experience AWS Services; EC2, AWS Security, S3, Media Live, Media Connect, Media Package, Media Tailor, Cloud Watch, Cloud Front
Optimizing service performance
Manage the allocation of cloud resource by monitoring the traffic
Creation of new cluster, discontinuing the unused resources
EstablishDevOpsengineer best practices
Stay current with industry advancements and adoption into the organization
Implementing service monitoring strategies
Mange logging and monitoring with Stackdriver, Cloud Watch, Nagios, influx and some other logging.
Adjust the threshold for alerting
Creating and maintaining monitoring dashboard
Enabling security scan
Managing service incidents
Reacting to the reported alerts
Investigate incident symptoms impacting users with Stackdriver, Nagios and some other data
Able to quickly assess impact to service and manage process to restore service

Required/ Desired Skillsets:
Bachelors Degree or Equivalent in the field ofComputer Science orEngineering
Generally requires 10+ years related experience
Experience of Online Video Streaming (HLS, MPEG-Dash, RTP) with Cloud Server Platform (AWS or GCP)
Strong experience with Linux-based environments (CentOS, OSX)
Google Cloud Services (VM, Microservice deployment, Kubernetes, Cloud SQL, RabbitMQ) and deployment
AWS Cloud Services (S3, API Gateway, Cloud Front, Media Live, Media Package, etc.)
GitHub, Jenkins, Docker,Puppet
Load balancing and enabling CDN
Stackdriver, Nagios, Influx and monitoring dashboards
TCP/IP networking, firewall administration, VPC
Ability to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical members
XUMO's head office is in Orange County, California. As part of its corporate responsibility to both staff and the wider society, XUMO is currently operating under a temporary remote working initiative and distributed virtual networks operation center to support the prevention of spread of COVID-19. Candidates should be comfortable remote working and video conferencing during the short term, with an eventual goal to return to a full-time office-based environment.
