MPI encourages applications from minorities, women, the disabled, protected veterans and all other qualified applicants. *Description* The Sr. Supervisor of Food Safety/Quality Assurance is responsible for assisting in the leading of the FSQA department and for developing and executing the site quality strategy which will enable the plant to continue to be a leader in food safety operations. The role reports into a Manager and VP of FSQA and will share the responsibility of the daily quality management and execution of all elements of the plant strategy including managing tactical quality teams, monitoring and releasing production/product, and hosting regulatory and customer visits. This role will assist in the overall compliance of the site, customer and/or regulatory agency requirements, is the central responsibility of this role. * Assist in the quality & regulatory systems are management, continuously reviewed and improved for compliance and operating efficiencies. * Help ensures that QA department personnel are trained, and the site training program is well integrated. * Ensure compliance with all applicable Customer, FDA, USDA, HACCP and PCQI regulations. * Provide guidance to site on quality compliance standards and expectations. * Help manage the Batch Release Process: completes quality assurance operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and providing adequate oversight to ensure that requirements are met. * Assist with review of quality agreements and act as liaison with all clients on quality topics. * Oversee compliant document management and retention programs. * Streamline departmental procedures and ensure staff are trained in pursuit of robust compliance and operating efficiency. * Ensure site-wide training documentation is adequately maintained and retrievable. * Manage Quality Assurance leads and techs by coaching, counseling, planning, monitoring, problem resolution mediation, and assisting in appraisals. * 2+ years' in quality assurance, food safety and/or regulatory supervisory leadership - preferred. * Knowledge of GMP/USDA/FDA regulations * Experince reviewing SOPs, HACCP prgrams, and other audits * Creative conceptual thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable with technical issues. * *Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with employees at all levels of the organization. * * Ability to manage multiple priorities at one time using effective organizational skills and judgment in an environment of frequently changing circumstances. * * 40% of the time will be standing and sitting in an office environment. * * 60% of the time will be on the production floor which will include exposure to chemicals, cold, hot and sometimes a wet working environment. * * Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. * * Bachelor's Degree required - science major preferred.
