Job Summary

As a Commercial Optimization Manager, you will be overseeing the design and delivery of reports and analytics related to customer and IBX performance, pricing, churn, retention, and the negotiation process. This role will work and cross-functionally to discover insights that will guide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities. You will develop and lead a team of analysts focused on insight creation, ensuring accuracy and consistency in reporting by designing and creating optimal processes for the team to follow. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in data analysis that can be leveraged to identify trends and solve problems, finding opportunities for improvement across multiple projects and teams.



Responsibilities

Coaching & Mentoring


  • Supervises a team of analysts to ensure that the duties they are undertaking are carried out in a timely manner and projects are progressing as expected.


  • Provides necessary feedback, guidance, and advice to team members.


Analytics Strategy

  • Defines and communicates vision for analytics and analytics priorities, ensuring alignment with Commercial Operations priorities and IT's commitment.

Data Definitions & Integrity


  • Collaborates cross-functionally to confirm data definitions and fix identified data integrity and inconsistency issues.


  • Contributes to the development of new metrics and insights as defined by business owners.


Reporting & Analytics


  • Supervises and contributes to the creation of reports and insights for commercial teams to leverage for strategic decisions.


  • Mines data for patterns, relationships, issues, and consistency on a regular basis.


Stakeholder Management


  • Builds relationships and partners with stakeholders (i.e. Commercial Finance, Commercial Solutions, IT, Finance, DNA, business leaders) to understand requests, make recommendations, and implement solutions.


  • Coaches team members to present data and insights to business leaders for better adoption and use of insights. Manages stakeholder expectations across functions.


  • Leads and facilitates cross-functional discussions to drive issues, challenges, and prioritization efforts.


Thought Leadership


  • Brings values to each ask and provides thought leadership on how to develop and use analytics capabilities.


  • Identifies process gaps and issues and recommends areas for improvement that consider the needs of functional or cross-functional teams.


  • Provides support and development for analysts.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree required


  • 5+ years of experience highly preferred, 10+ years preferred, in reporting & analytics preferred


  • 3+ years managerial experience preferred


  • Experienced user of Microsoft Excel and Tableau required


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the confidence to routinely interact with leadership


  • Results focused, highly organized, and detail-oriented


  • Ability to handle competitivity, ambiguity, and time pressures


  • A strong academic background with demonstrable commercial acumen; bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience


  • Global leadership experience preferred
