Job Description Summary

Responsible for the management of facility services at our client's Ft Collins, CO and Orlando, FL sites. Maintain overall facility management services to ensure maintenance of the facilities and grounds, and provision of associated services, is executed in a manner consistent with the Client's global standard processes and professional brand image and compliant with applicable local laws, rules and regulations.

The Facility Manager will supervise the activities of the Electrical/HVAC, Mechanical, Janitorial, and Security contractors. This person will be responsible for the Ft Collins and Orlando sites, consisting of labs, common areas, off-site test facility, office space and executive area. The Facility Manager must exhibit exceptional customer service and communication skills. This individual will ensure that facility maintenance services are being provided in a proper and cost-effective manner. This individual should have the ability to effectively manage multiple external and internal client needs and is required to engage/interact with landlord representatives.

Job Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The Facility Manager will be responsible for the leadership, direction, and performance of all assigned site maintenance and services activities, including:


  • Direct vendors including Electrical, HVAC, Mechanical, Structural, Plumbing, and Janitorial.

  • Direct 3rd party and Agency activities and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

  • Oversight of all processes ensuring conformance to federal, provincial, and local regulations, and conformance with company and customer policies.

  • Ensure safety is factored into everything we do and is a significant consideration in all activities including customer relations, policy implementation / enforcement, budget preparation and cost control.

  • Manage and lead quality control, maintenance process development and compliance, and other account administrative functions as necessary.

  • Must demonstrate good judgment at all times when making decisions affecting the company's business.

  • Ensure that all work performed under his/her supervision is done in a timely and cost-effective manner according to the applicable codes.

  • Effectively communicate in person, and electronically to relay complex information to customers, building occupants, landlord representatives and manager.

  • Ensure that EHS procedures are being implemented and issues are being resolved through the direction of the Client's EHS representatives.

  • Assist with the development and execution of the account's strategic plans (Business Continuity, CapitalPlanning, Facility Assessment, Asset Management, etc.).

  • Respond to customer satisfaction surveys requiring follow-up while developing and executing corrective action plans as required.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Build and manage relationships with the Site Leadership and Business Unit managers to ensure their needs are met.

  • Interact with customer and client personnel to determine and meet customer/client expectations.

  • Coordinate activities to ensure effective and efficient performance in all activities to minimize disruption and impact to building occupants.

  • Assist in the development of long-range planning in support of the Client's goals and objectives.

  • Maintain positive customer relations by being flexible to meet the needs and demands of a constantly changing work environment.

  • Complete and oversee other duties as directed.

Qualifications:


  • Education: possess a High School Diploma. College degree a plus.

  • Experience: a minimum of five (5) years of experience in Facilities Management including two (2) years of experience managing a comparable site with an extensive background in planning / scheduling.

  • Strong Technical background in electrical and/or mechanical.

  • Accreditation: Membership and demonstrated active participation in industry related professional organizations (SMRP, IFMA, BOMA, etc.) with applicable professional certification is desired.

  • Computer Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in creating and working with documents in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with Building Control Systems and CMMS tools. Experience with Johnson Controls Metasys, 360, and Archibus is preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills is essential.

  • Ability to multi-task and effectively organize responsibilities to achieve account goals and objectives.
