Otter Products is currently recruiting for a Sr. Manager of Product Segments to join our team in Fort Collins, CO! As the Sr. Manager of Product Segments, you will own and drive success within the following strategic consumer market verticals - kids, mobile gaming and wearables.

 

In this role, you will serve as the company-wide subject matter experts for the given vertical market segment in the consumer space with deep understanding of customer needs, competition, and industry trends. You will manage a team of Product Segment Managers who work closely with Sales, Marketing, Product Line Managers and Senior Leadership to identify gaps or opportunities and develop strategies for growth. Success is optimizing a curated product portfolio to maximize Otter's opportunity within your given market segment vertical.

Responsibilities

    Serve as company-wide subject matter expert for the market segment verticals within the key, strategic consumer and/or commercial markets.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the given market segments covering customers, deep insights, competition, and industry trends

  • Identify and understand relevant market trends, drivers, challenges, and needs to help influence activities across the company to drive revenue growth within the given vertical market segment.

  • Own the definition of operational and strategic goals for the given vertical segments by analyzing market and consumer data, providing segment insights, ensuring cross-functional alignment, gaining executive visibility and buy-in, and driving results.

  • Identify product and solution requirements for the vertical market segments, and feed those requirements into the Product Category teams to influence product roadmaps, ensuring relevance and coverage of vertical segment needs

  • Consult with, educate, and assist sales teams to help close business opportunities within given vertical segments

  • Work closely with Insights team to commission targeted research within vertical segments, to gather deep insights and trends

  • Curate complete, cross-category product portfolio for given vertical segment(s), including partnership products as necessary, to position to customers/sales teams and drive revenue growth

  • Assume responsibility for the successful implementation of business plans in the given market segment verticals by ensuring all new launches of new products and/or series across each region meet launch expectations and timing with Sales

  • Identify growth opportunities within the specific vertical segments, leading innovation efforts and project planning with cross functional organizations/partners ensuring the delivery of products that offer unique benefits and superior value to Otter Products customers

  • Identify emerging trends within given vertical segments and drive 1-3 year strategic objectives that capitalize on those trends

  • Owns product line management of unique, segment-specific products, driving new and existing products through the Product Lifecycle.

  • Works closely with internal teams to successfully influence the product(s) roadmap(s) by defining optimal strategies with right pricing, timing, brand and features, tied to organization strategies, through analysis of sales trends, competitors, buying habits and planograms of products

  • Partner with global managers to leverage OEM insights and partnership opportunities aligned to strategy for given vertical segments

  • Schedule and maintain a quarterly vertical segment update and review process with sales stakeholders and/or external alliance partners to ensure Otter is meeting current and future expectations within given vertical segments

  • Partner with the Marketing Team to develop marketing strategies that address the vertical segment opportunities and monitor the execution of that strategy

  • Train the Sales & Marketing team on given vertical segment and evangelize curated portfolio to execute joint sell-in programs and increase revenue

  • Serve as key point of contact for vertical segment-related communications with Sales and Marketing

  • Continually and proactively demonstrates strong leadership and managerial skills in motivating, coaching, developing, and retaining a high-performance team, through weekly 1x1's and staff meetings

  • Manages employee's objectives; motivates employees to improve quality of work performed; recommends training and professional development opportunities; ensures all business needs as well as employee development needs are being met.

  • Conducts timely and accurate employee performance evaluations; addresses performance issues

  • Support and maintain a positive safety culture by being an active leader in all safety program initiatives

  • Other duties as required

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree required. Degree in marketing, business or related field preferred. Experience in lieu of degree may be considered.

  • Minimum of 6 years of product management and/or segment marketing experience including conceiving, developing and driving innovative products and portfolios required.

  • Minimum of 3 years previous people management experience required.

  • Previous experience managing P&L preferred

USD $115,000.00/Yr.

For US Based Roles Only - Compensation Range Maximum

USD $149,000.00/Yr.
