Overview

The IT Software Engineering Co-op is part of the Application Development team for designing, developing and implementing software solutions for supporting RMR's internal business units nationwide. This is a great opportunity for the right individual to become an impactful and value-add member of the IT Team. You will support both Corporate office and remote office customers during your internship at The RMR Group.

Responsibilities

Proactively engage the required resources to ensure the customer expectation is exceeded in a timely manner.
• Work as a member of a collaborative team.


• Follow standard operating procedures around process and documentation.


• Troubleshoot and resolve issues and work with other teams to identify root cause and resolution.


• Contribute to IT and AppDev Knowledge Base, writing concise and coherent knowledge articles and design/solution documents.


• Participate in all aspects of the Software Development lifecycle through supporting existing software development efforts and developing new software modules.


• Analyze project specifications, software requirements specifications, and software prototypes and build test plans and test cases based on the analysis.


• Interact with business analysts/product owners to understand requirements, translate it to technical design and develop the related components/modules.


• Develop, maintain, test, analyze performance, troubleshoot/fix applications and applicable code.


• Produce deliverables with clean, well-documented and easily maintainable code that adheres to defined coding standards and best practices.


• Participate in designing backend database schemas, using concepts such as Database Normalization and write complex SQL statements.


• Write unit/UI tests to help identify defects.


• Implement software for applications and related technology, with minimal oversight.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering from an accredited college or university.


• Strong applied experience. You've built, broken, and rebuilt software applications. We're looking for creative thinkers who also know how to create real-world products.


• Working knowledge of web technologies (such as HTTP, HTML/DOM, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX, Angular, Blazer) will be beneficial.


• Familiarity with Node.js applications.


• Familiarity with .Net Core, C# and/or T-SQL.


• Understanding of concepts like Web Services, SOA, REST APIs, and Relational Database Design.


• A constant desire to grow, learn, and explore new things.


• Proactive, self-directed, strong attention to detail and organized.


• Strong work ethic and commitment to meeting deadlines.


• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
