Responsibilities

We are seeking highly qualified, self-motivated individuals to join ScottMadden to support our Rates, Regulation, and Planning practice area. At ScottMadden, we have a team approach with a primary focus on client engagements. Consultants are responsible for management and delivery of work products to clients. This role will support deliverables for our Rates and Regulation Practice Area and includes modeling, research, analysis, and testimony writing.


  • Manage projects and oversee the development of client deliverables

  • Deliver within the scope of the project while meeting budget expectations

  • Organize, manipulate, and analyze complex data sets

  • Conduct research and summarize for inclusion in client deliverables

  • Contribute to the expansion of one or more practice areas through subject matter expertise

  • Support business development initiatives including preparation of proposals and responses to RFPs

  • Participate in firm development activities as requested by firm management

  • Monitor and communicate industry developments

  • Participate in industry events and client networking activities

Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following:


  • Five or more years of utility experience supporting regulatory activities

  • Bachelor’s degree or greater ideally in Economics, Math, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or Engineering

  • Leadership, team building, and management skills

  • Advanced client-facing skills and a drive to exceed project goals

  • Developed expertise within the Rates, Regulation, and Planning practice area

  • Advanced communication skills, including testimony writing, presentations, executive presence

  • Advanced ability to perform in-depth analysis

  • Self-motivated with an ability to successfully manage project teams

  • Active participant in mentoring peers

  • Strong competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other modeling software
