Golder has a new opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Mining Process and Infrastructure team in a Full-Time position at our Elko, NV office.

Your primary responsibilities will include:


  • Develop mechanical system design solutions based on engineering principles and presenting to clients.
  • Provide technical support to external and internal customers.
  • Ensure relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all engineering designs.
  • Interpret client requirements, identify and address design parameters.
  • Working under the supervision of senior-level engineers to perform tasks related to:

    • Equipment sizing, hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, material selection and specifications
    • Perform engineering calculations to specify and size mechanical equipment including flotation cells, conveyors, pumps, blowers, compressors, control valves, regulators, relief valves, pipe and other associated process equipment
    • Prepare e-drawings including PFDs, PIDs, General Arrangements, Mechanical & Piping Details, Piping plans, sections and details, and pipeline alignment sheets for process engineering design
    • Prepare technical documents including specifications, data-sheets, technical bid analysis, etc.


Required:

  • An undergraduate degree mechanical engineering
  • Clear and effective written and oral communication skills
  • EIT certification (or eligibility to obtain within a year)

Desired:

  • At least two years experience in mechanical engineering or related field
  • Experience in consulting industry
  • Strong data review, manipulation, and management skills
  • Strong people skills and an ability to work in a team environment
