We currently have an IMMEDIATE opening for a highly motivated individual to join our SPRINGFIELD, MO TEAM in the position of PRODUCTION OPERATOR.
SUMMARY
Performs various duties in the plant to include forklift operation, material handling and sorting, inspecting and/or cylinder maintenance work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Moves cylinders to and from designated staging area; loads and unloads cylinders on or from vehicles via forklift per driver load sheets.
- Moves cylinders by hand with aid of material equipment and sorts by type and size.
- Scrape exterior of cylinders by hand with scraping knife to remove labels and may operate bead blaster to remove paint from cylinders.
- Soaks cylinders in cleaning solution, rinse, and place on drying rack.
- Applies new coat of paint to exterior of cylinders when needed.
- Fills out and attaches new labels, warnings and other identification tags or decals to cylinders.
- Examines exterior of cylinders for surface defects such as dents, cracks, or burns, and deciphers whether or not to quarantine the cylinder for further inspection.
- Changes cylinder valves with wrench, or adjusts them with torque wrench to prescribed tension.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
* High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
* One (1) year experience in a production/manufacturing environment
* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
* Ability to compute rate, ratio, commissions, proportions, and percents.
* Able to read and write.
* Able to understand and follow the direction of supervisors.
* Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
