A Biostatistical Analyst job in West Sacramento, CA is now available through Belcan. In this role, you will provide Biostatics support for Research & Development of soil microbial strain propagation. This is a great contract opportunity with an established and reputable company.


POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Generate custom scripts to handle bioassay and field trial data analysis in Python or R;
* Apply innovative technical tools to support research and development of new products for crop protection and efficiency;
* Communicate effectively through listening, documentations and presentations, especially using compelling visualization tools to share analysis and interpretation of data;
* Identify proactively and incorporate new algorithms and technology to automate the analysis of bioassay data and field trial results;
* Train research staff on the use of relevant experimental design, bioinformatics software and applied statistical tools;
* Apply state-of-the-art know-how to solve complex problems and demonstrate creativity in problem-solving;

REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES
Education Requirement(s):
* Bachelor's degree with at least two years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with relevant experience;

Skill & Competency Requirements:
* Ability to handle large data sets efficiently using scripts;
* Knowledge of statistical software tools and packages;
* Fluent in Python, R or other scripting languages.

Preferences:Bios
* Contributes to research projects, technologies, publications;
* Experience in the analysis of bioassay and/or field trial data;
* Experiences working in the biotech sector focusing on plant health and crop protection;
* Familiar with SQL and some knowledge of using relational databases such as PostgreSQL;
* Previous laboratory experience;
* Knowledge of bacterial and plant genetics;
* Working with high performance computing clusters.
