The Impact You'll Make

The Empath Manager is a member of the multi-disciplinary team responsible for providing social work-related services to the adult population in the crisis stabilization unit. The Empath Manager displays an ongoing commitment to high quality nursing care, appropriate utilization of resources, and adherence to all system Nursing Standards of Care and Standards of Practice. Directs and manages the Empath on a 24-hour basis to promote high quality, cost-effective services. Serves as leader, mentor, and advocate representing patients, their families/support systems, physicians, staff, and the community team. Operates within their scope of practice as defined by the RN California Nurse Practice Acts. Follows Vituity and Marian Regional Medica center rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws, and standards.

Additional responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Manages and monitors operational performance to achieve EMPATH.
• Provides operational leadership, management, and oversight in the development of current and new process improvement programs to address practice line operations performance.
• Promotes customer service, patient satisfaction, and community outreach.
• Submits quality review reports for workplace violence or unusual occurrences for the patients, staff, or visitors.
• Directly oversees the EMPATH departmental standards and procedures, goals and objectives, utilization and quality assurance, performance improvement, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
• Monitors throughput of unit and overall productivity of day-to-day operations.
• Collects and disseminates system process and best practices in cooperation with Practice Line Director.
• Represents the Empath unit as a strong and positive leader.
• Systematically deploys practice knowledge to encourage standard practice within the practice line.
• Supports the front line by assisting with day-to-day operations, covering breaks, and assuring productivity of the unit.
• Assists team members to achieve operational and financial performance at sites through their support, tracking initiatives, and consulting initiatives.
• Integrates Vituity resources and services to support, enhance, and innovate practice.
• In collaboration with Director, suggests consulting staff to sites in the most effective and cost prohibitive manner.
• Work with programs and innovation to support collaboratives by identifying sites ready for change, identifying resources to support, and presenting as requested.
• Provides project management and project support on an ad hoc basis for organizational/department initiatives as needed.

What You Will Bring

We'd love to hear from candidates with:

Required Experience and Competencies:

• Registered Nurse in the State of California.
• 3 years in a Behavioral Health-related field with recent manager or supervisor experience.

• Master's Degree in Nursing.

• 5 years of progressive experience in hospital, clinic, or medical practice line operations, preferably in a supervisory or management setting.
• 1 year of experience managing (multiple) direct reports.
• Experience in healthcare management - hospital-based management and physician practice management.
