A Day in the Life

• Executes project objectives for new products and changes to existing products.

• Scope of work includes product conception through full market release and sustaining product support.
• Completes tasks or objectives with minimal direction or assistance from experienced engineers.
• Can work individually or in a team environment to complete objectives. Positively contributes to a high-morale/high-performance team culture.
• "Strong" knowledge of principle engineering discipline and "Some" knowledge of other engineering disciplines.
• Complete understanding and able to successfully move a project through design control, quality and regulatory system processes.
• Able to manage own time and work schedule. Provides accurate estimates of task scope and duration.
• Able to derive, refine and prioritize user and technical requirements. Basic understanding of optimization for production, reliability and cost.
• Design skills include an understanding of drafting standards, design progression, GD&T in compliance with ASTM Y14.5 and DFSS methodologies.
• Can support testing through writing and executing tests. Experience with formal V&V activities.
• "Proficient" knowledge of Solidworks and modeling practices, design of mechanisms, linkages, material selection, and assembly methods.
• Knowledge of CNC machines to build prototypes for product development.
• Participates in the evaluation of new technology and new products.
• Provides information to engineering management.

• Assists with customer service, support and installations.

• All activities must be performed in compliance with the Quality System
• Performs duties in compliance with environmental, health and safety related site rules, policies or governmental regulations
• All other duties as assigned.
• Travel requirement: Less than 10%

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

• Bachelors degree required
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
• 2+ years experience in industry product development
• Experience designing mechanisms and linkages
• Knowledge of Mechanical technical principles, theories and concepts
• Experience with design and use of X-Ray products.
• Knowledge in manufacturing and machining processes as they apply to the design process
• Computer literate and skilled with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong ability to work within a team.
• Ability to function well under pressure and expend effort to meet schedules and deadlines.
• Willing to travel as necessary.
• Presents a professional image.
