About Global Sales Strategy & Operations:
Sales, Strategy & Operations is a division within Gartner which encompasses Sales Technology and other core functions to supporting Gartner's sales teams. This role will partner with stakeholders across the company to support three Sales forces comprised of more than 5,000 associates. Gartner Sales now sells to every major function across the enterprise. Sales Technology is a fast-growing team on the forefront of innovation helping Sales Associates to grasp their intergalactic market opportunity.
Role Purpose:
This a critical role in our ongoing transformation of the Sales force delivering ~$4B annual revenue growing at double digits. We are seeking an experienced data and reporting leader that can help us drive sales productivity through creating a "single source of the truth" for our customer data and developing innovative BI visualizations and solutions that impact 5K + Sales associates. The right person can demonstrate organizational agility, is adept at developing trust-based relationships and has a strong goal-orientation (vs. a task-orientation) in order to create long-term value. Responsibilities of the role:
Team Leadership & Vision
Work closely with leaders across Sales, Sales Operations, IT and BUs to continuously uncover new opportunities to improve customer data quality in our systems and deliver sales intelligence through innovative sales reporting/BI solutions
Lead the Sales Data and Reporting team of 7 people and direct our IT/BI development teams
Own all aspects of the definition, delivery, deployment/change management and on-going support for all products within the Sales Data and Reporting team
Stay current on emerging marketplace capabilities in Master Data Management, Sales Predictive Analytics, AI/Embedded Analytics, etc. in order to identify new opportunities to drive sales intelligence
Customer Data Quality and Management
Define enterprise data strategy, prioritization, roadmaps and ongoing support to create "single version of the truth" customer and account data
Partner with senior leaders in IT, Territories, Marketing, Service, Finance, and Key BUs to align, implement, and manage roadmap that leverages new technology
Lead key workstream(s) on our CRM journey around customer data definitions, structure, and flows
Sales Reporting and Visualizations
Continue to evolve our Sales Reporting vision, portfolio and roadmap based on our business needs and direction
Partner with senior leaders in IT, GSSO, and the business to understand and prioritize their needs, collaborate on solutions, and drive adoption by embedding into their business process
Direct IT development teams in the delivery of project objectives and continuous improvement on the throughput and quality of deliverables.
Maintain high quality operations and execution of our Sales Reporting portfolio
Key Initiatives Support
Support leaders across Sales Operations and BU Partners to organize and execute programs to drive sales productivity
Role Requirements:
10+ years' experience with mix across business operations, analytical reporting, customer data management and information systems; ideally 5+ years of consulting experience
Minimum of 7 years of experience in customer data, BI and Reporting projects and applications; including a minimum of 5 years' leadership experience developing and coaching product managers and business analysts delivering complex solutions
Very strong project and program management skills; demonstrated track record leading cross-functional initiatives
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal; can clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
Subject matter expert on enterprise information system including an awareness of data models / data structures / and data warehouses
Broad industry knowledge and expertise with leading current Enterprise Data/BI/Reporting practices and technologies
Deep knowledge on software delivery methods with high emphasis on leading teams using Agile methodologies
Advanced critical thinking, logic, and problem-solving skills including the ability to rationalize complex, multi-faceted problems into smaller, manageable issues
Experience setting and executing upon data strategy within a SaaS product environment
Experience managing and building a data science practice is a plus
Independent, self-starter and high integrity; strong collaborator and business partner
Mix of consulting and industry experience highly desirable
Willingness to travel up to 25%
Recommend BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering; MBA is a plus
