Purpose:

Manufacturing Improvement Analyst’s role will be to work with the Manufacturing Supervisor and Manufacturing departments to drive/lead efficiency improvements efficiencies in the following areas:


  • Production Process Improvement (Cycle time reduction, material flow improvement, etc.)
  • Scrap Reduction
  • Quality Improvement
  • Safety Improvements
  • Other areas as assigned from Manufacturing Supervisor or Operations Manager.

Manufacturing Improvement Analysts will coordinate with Value Stream Managers and lead projects within their respective departments. They will lead teams comprised of operators, supervisors, managers, process engineers, and others that are deemed necessary to drive improvements in the above mentioned categories.

Essential Responsibilities:

General Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Gain a full understanding of processes in the departments by communicating with production operators, supervisors, managers and reviewing departmental metrics.
  • Gather and analyze data (daily run rates, scrap, quality, and safety) to have a strong foundation in which to drive projects for improvement in the departments.
  • Coach manufacturing associates on process/asset troubleshooting and problem solving processes
  • Lead and coach Level 1 and Level 2 Problem Solving efforts in their manufacturing areas.
  • Support Level 1 and Level 2 Problem Solving efforts in their manufacturing areas.
  • Provide supervisor coverage as needed within departments.
  • Identify and Lead initiatives to resolve repetitive quality, scrap, and production issues within the departments.
  • Create spreadsheets and utilize power point presentations for communication to departmental employees and management staff to verify improvement projects.

Technical/Functional Skills:

Mechanical/technical background, with an ability to work within a team structure/environment demonstrated through formal/informal experienceâ€,â€,â€,â€,â€,

 ÂStrong analytical skills with strong computer skillsâ€,â€,â€,

 Demonstrated skills in teaching, coaching and training othersâ€,â€,â€,â€,

â€, Excellent oral and written communication skillsâ€,â€,â€,â€,

Education/Training:

Minimum high school (or equiv) required

Associate degreeÂof Math, Mechanical, and technical preferred

Minimum of 5 to 8 years of manufacturing experience preferred
