POSITION SUMMARY:

The Lead Fixed Asset Analyst must be detail oriented, and possess excellent communication skills, both the verbal and written. This individual must work well with others at various levels of the organization. The ideal candidate must also be able to think and work independently; bringing potential solutions along with issues discovered, and the candidate must possess the ability to build simple queries/reports arising out of impromptu requests.

JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Implement process improvements for company's property accounting function to help improve accuracy and efficiency and to support the company's capital projects.
• Independently prepare and analyze FERC Form 6 and RRC quarterly and annual reports.
• Actively gather and analyze data for depreciation studies and cost of service analysis.
• Recognize potential issues and risks and determine plan to mitigate risks.
• Work on regulatory accounting requests with various stakeholders.
• Prepare and review quarterly/annual property disclosure footnotes for reporting.
• Prepare/review all assigned monthly account reconciliations.
• Perform research on various accounting topics as requested and provide recommendations to Manager in a clear and concise manner.
• Collaborate with various stakeholder groups to ensure successful completion of tasks.
• Provide timely, meaningful, and accurate feedback in order to foster employee development.
• Maintain desk procedures and SOX documentation for assigned areas.
• Respond to inquiries from auditors ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Assist with any special projects that may arise.

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
• 7+ years of public accounting and/or corporate accounting experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP and an understanding of internal controls.
• Prior use of ERP and consolidation systems.
• Understanding of FERC and/or regulated accounting.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Exhibits attention to detail, ownership, and willingness to be hands-on.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with ability to adjust style depending on audience.
• Proficient in Excel to at least an intermediate level.
• Ability to problem solve and think outside of the box.
• Strong planning and organization skills; ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to think strategically and demonstrates an ability to work independently and in a team environment, including with other departments.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and adapts effectively to new and changing environments.
• Regular and reliable attendance with ability and willingness to work overtime, especially during close and billing cycles.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certified Public Accountant or Masters.
• Experience with and sufficient knowledge of fixed asset accounting, project reimbursable billings, understanding financial statements, regulated accounting, and FERC reporting.
• Experience with Oracle Financials Cloud (OFC) and OneStream.
• Energy sector experience.
