Job Description:

This position assists frail seniors to enjoy their highest level of independence while receiving the necessary care and service to meet their changing needs. Resident Healthcare Assistants assist with personal care. This position partners with other teams to assure individualized dining, environmental, social and healthcare experiences. Supports and lives out Immanuel's Mission and CHRIST Promises.

Key Areas

Key Responsibilities and Duties of the Job

Resident Care


  • Partners with family and team to best meet resident needs.

  • Follows current individualized resident plans of care.

  • Assists with personal care for an assigned group of residents.

  • Seeks direction and reports resident change in condition.

  • Performs daily care tasks within scope of policy and procedure.

  • Partners with dietary team to assured individualized meals and snacks.

  • Partners with environmental team to assure clean and safe residence.

  • Partners with recreational, pastoral and wellness teams to assure participation in resident selected activities.


Administrative & Compliance

  • Participates in all safety, security and infection control programs.

  • Complies with all internal/external regulations, policies and procedures. Understanding and practice of quality standards and HIPAA regulations. Supports continuous improvement.

  • Assumes responsibility for personal and professional growth through participation in meetings, training and continuing education programs.

  • Maintains professional affiliations and any required certifications.


Other
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Education-

  • High School Diploma/GED is preferred.

  • Equivalent years of experience may substitute for education requirement.


Experience-

  • One (1) year of general work experience is required.

  • Equivalent years of education may substitute for the experience requirement.


Other Requirements -
  • Eight hour training course must be completed upon hire.

KSA- Knowledge Skills and Abilities-

  • Knowledge of physical, mental, spiritual, and social needs of the senior and/or frail elderly population and their families.

  • Knowledge of Immanuel, its mission and Promises, and how those are directly correlated to the incumbent's job.

  • Skilled in effective and appropriate written communication.

  • Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with residents/participants, co-workers, family members, and vendors.

  • Ability to prepare and administer medication and treatments accurately and timely.

  • Ability to appropriately use equipment, facilities, and materials to do certain work.

  • Ability to exhibit high standard of ethics, accountability and responsibility.

  • Ability to take initiative and demonstrate personal traits of high level of motivation.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally; make eye contact, pleasantly greet people, and use tact and diplomacy in interactions at all levels.

  • Ability to place a high value on treating others with dignity and respect.

Education-


  • High School Diploma/GED is preferred.
