FP&A Analyst II

Equinix Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) is responsible for providing financial leadership to support and challenge decisions pertaining to the profitability and financial health of the company. FP&A is primarily responsible for forecasting, budgeting, reporting, analysis and business partnering. The FP&A team aims to deliver high quality, relevant, timely and accurate financial and non-financial information to enable key decision making and strategic direction. The FP&A Analyst 2 will support Equinix in the various quarterly forecasting and analysis both internally and externally to enable Equinix leadership to make key decisions. This role will work with each of the regional FP&A, Corporate Finance teams and various cross functional teams to develop a consolidated view of the Equinix’s short-term forecast. The FP&A Analyst 2 will also assist in ad hoc analysis, system upgrade implementation/testing and global forecasting accuracy improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of the monthly short-term forecast flashes and support quarterly forecasting that underpins our external guidance and Earnings
Support annual budgeting including preparing executive level presentations
Provides analysis for quarterly and annual revenue, cost and budget forecasts highlighting actual vs. target discrepancies and trends as appropriate
Support adhoc budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning requests and analysis
Assist with special projects that support corporate, global and local finance initiatives
Provides process improvement recommendations
Supports financial reporting and forecast variance analysis or Executive Management, including financial information, key metrics and insightful variance analysis and commentary (i.e. monthly management flashes, quarterly regional performance reviews, quarterly forecast presentations, budget presentations, etc.) for the purposes of cost and revenue analysis
Financial Analysis-Solves problems related to the regional, functional and country complexity of our business model; analyzes possible solutions using own experience and that of the group
Control / Compliance- Discovers and highlights data discrepancies and brings to the attention of management
Makes recommendations as appropriate
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in finance preferred. Experience in modeling and forecasting strongly preferred
A strong academic background with demonstrable commercial acumen. Bachelors in Finance or Accounting degree preferred
Experience working for a multinational organization, in a high growth, fast paced and dynamic global technology-driven environment strongly preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the confidence to routinely interact with an executive level audience
Hands on, can do attitude, results orientated, highly organized, detail-oriented able to handle complexity, ambiguity and time pressures
Highly developed interpersonal style with emphasis on building strong long-term relationships particularly across various geographies and cross-functionally
Experienced user of Microsoft Office suite of products required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Other financial system product experience preferred (Oracle, Hyperion planning, etc.)
3+ years experience in finance or related field preferred
Bachelors degree in finance or accounting preferred
