Job Description:

Summary/Objective
The Rework Team Lead assists the supervisor with all daily operations of the Rework Department. The person in this position has the ability to lead the department when the Supervisor is not present.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists Rework Supervisor with daily operations of the Rework department.


• Supervises all team members, ensuring all goals and deadlines are met.


• Assists with training and coaching of rework team members.


• Models and administers company policies and procedures.


• Assumes supervisor’s roles and responsibilities during any absences.

• Inspects all incoming products for defects.


• Exercises judgment when conducting quality checks to ensure all product meets our high standard of quality.


• Culls/trims produce to meet presentation and quality guidelines.


• Conducts routine audits to ensure proper food safety and sanitation procedures are practiced.

• Documents daily employee hours and duties, noting anything that may affect productivity.


• Responsible for the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse.


• Responsible for completion of all daily, weekly, and monthly paperwork.

Food Safety Responsibilities

• Works with Quality Assurance Team to ensure specific Good Manufacturing Practices are being followed.
  


• Employee shall adhere to all company food safety policies, procedures, and trainings.

Required, Education and Experience:

Education

• High school diploma /G.E.D., or equivalent experience required.

Experience

• 2+ years’ experience in production environment.


• Ability to lead others.


• Food industry experience preferred.

Physical Requirements: 
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; reach; climb and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to work in tight and/or dim places, and be comfortable with heights.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Language Skills:
Ability to read, write and speak fluently in English.

Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.  

 

Reasoning Ability: 
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations (Preferred):
Servsafe certification is desirable.
HACCP certification preferred.

 

Work Environment
Perishable warehouse can range from 28° to 60° Fahrenheit.

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Sunday, 8 hours scheduled according to assigned shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) with mandatory overtime as needed.

Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
