Job Description Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Construction Manager, the Vactor Operator performs such tasks and duties as are necessary for the operation & routine maintenance of the vactor truck.  The position is also responsible for the coordination and implementation of the maintenance and repair for both stormwater and wastewater collection systems.  The Vactor Operator communicates frequently with the Construction Manager regarding systems and services.

Responsibilities

• Driving, navigating and running the support truck (permitted gross vehicle weight up to 26,000 lb. flat bed)


• Loading and unloading equipment and material


• Clean (jet rod and vacuum) storm lines, drywells, catch basins and wastewater manholes


• Identify, repair, and test any necessary components of the drywell, catch basins and wastewater manholes being serviced


• Perform routine maintenance, inspections and service procedures on the vactor truck


• Other responsibilities may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

Requirements

• Valid Class A or B CDL


• At least 2 years of driving experience


• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs


• Ensure safety procedures are being implemented while on the job as mandated by company and OSHA policies


• Must be willing to operate ascending or descending ladders up to 30’ deep
