Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of existing processes within the first line of defense, specifically Sales and provide input on opportunities for improvement. Loan level reviews are a primary tool used to complete the evaluation.
Drive risk engagement for business initiatives that impact or are initiated by the Sales group
Provide effective risk oversight through active and direct engagement with the business. Ensure key decisions have the appropriate level of transparency and governance.
Drive escalation of key risks identified and partner with other second line of defense teams (Legal, Compliance, Controls, Fraud) to ensure adequate remediation of those risks.
Leverage analytics to identify, drive Sales specific or loan specific reviews.
Qualifications
1+ year experience in risk, compliance, audit, controls
Minimum of 5-7 years experience in Mortgage Banking; Underwriting experience preferred.
Strong communication and leadership skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload, while maintaining a high attention to detail
Strong initiative, ability to take ownership and work independently
Exceptional collaboration skills and ability to interact with all levels of staff
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative analysis into concise, executive-level communications
Highly organized and keen time management skills
