Job Description

The Material Handler is responsible for pulling together materials based on MO/ Work Orders.  In addition, responsible for performing material handling functions in an electronic warehouse environment including, but not limited to, kitting parts, cycle counts, and filling material requests.  Use UPS Shipping Systems.

 

Job Responsibilities


  • Pick parts to fill kits and shortages.                                        
  • Conduct cycle counts (assist).                                    
  • Process component issues, production receipts, and part transfers (including data entry to support).              
  • Locate components or kits in warehouse.                
  • Issue kits to the floor.                                                   
  • Weigh small parts to determine amount.
  • Crosstrain and help as needed in all areas of the warehouse (picking, packing, shipping and receiving).           
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition by performing daily organization and cleanup of work area.
  • Participate in continuous process improvement.
  • Recommend changes to and participate in the review of manufacturing procedures.
  • Follow safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions to your team-lead or supervisor.
  • Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision.
  • Assistant in other areas as business necessitates.

Basic Qualifications


  • 1-3 years’ experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Basic computer and math skills.
  • Comfortable working on computer.


  • Able to work in a fast-paced high-pressure environment.
  • Strong stress management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Knowledge of basic material handling equipment and shipping policies. 
  • Strong attention to detail (counting, verification, and filling out documentation). 
  • Excellent organizational skills. 
  • Ability to understand and follow procedures. 
  • Demonstrate excellent attendance.


  • Team oriented.
  • Ability to read, speak and write fluent English.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Understanding of ESD and moisture sensitive shipping requirements.
  • Experience/Knowledge of UPS World Ship/ Fed Ex Ship Manager, DHL World Wide Express.

 

 

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

  • walk, stand, squat, turn and twist the body
  • reach arms above the head and below the waist
  • lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Employee is required to work in a Team environment.
