The Senior Manager, Credentialing will maintain high standards of accountability and operate on the principles of a High-Reliability Organization in an effort to achieve safety, quality, and identified organizational, department and professional development goals. This individual is responsible for developing and oversees team operations in support of clinician/physician quality and client satisfaction by managing team-level performance, coaching leaders, and leading strategic initiatives - ultimately impacting fill rate or credential complete (Good-to-Go), revenue and profit.

Job Tasks:


  • Allocate Credentialing Analyst team resources to proactively address account volume fluctuations in order to optimize bookings and fill rate.


  • Develop and maintain relationships with outside vendors (operational, staffing, etc.) order to deliver seamless customer experiences.


  • Review department's policy and procedures (P & P) on a monthly basis taking into account updated information, specific initiatives and supervisor input in order to evaluate and implement.


  • Facilitate supervisor, team lead, or team member problem solving on high-risk, critical escalations extending beyond the bounds of established policy and procedures.


  • Conduct and interpret internal audits and trends by reviewing healthcare professional files for accuracy and requirements in order to diagnose opportunities to improve performance and processes.


  • Partner with leaders across all AMN divisions and departments to improve collegial work environment, build trust, and accelerate communication or service delivery.


  • Present department or team strategy, progress to goals, and updates on department initiatives during team meetings, quarterly business reviews, or other large meetings which include business leaders across AMN in order to promote results, build relationships, and inspire continued performance.


  • Develop and execute strategy communication and project plans related to yearly Quality initiatives (e.g. The Joint Commission reviews, NCQA, technology implementations, reorganizations, etc.)


  • Champion change management related to department initiatives through effective communication, driving projects to completion, and measuring outcomes to reward desired performance.


  • Conduct weekly individual meetings (1:1s) with direct reports to assess production results and progress in order to develop future performance and partner to overcome obstacles.


  • Execute AMN's Performance Success Plan process quarterly to evaluate direct reports through observation and feedback in order to identify opportunities for goal alignment and continuous improvement.


  • Facilitate Individual Development Plan process and progress with credentialing supervisors to discuss career interests and leadership development needs in order to support personal, professional and business growth.


  • Evaluate potential credentialing leadership candidates utilizing behavioral-based interviews and competency assessments to build effective teams.


  • Interpret department engagement survey results in partnership with Human Resources in order to develop, cascade and implement action plans that increase performance and retention.


  • Deliver performance improvement coaching with direct reports and team members; consulting or managing the appropriate course of action in partnership with Human Resources.


  • Participate in the budget process with Director/Senior Director by providing insight on workforce costs in order to maximize return on resource expenditures.


  • Takes a leadership role in approving exceptions, according to the "Compliance Exceptions Document"


  • Promote a team atmosphere between the QS department and those departments they have direct interaction with, through internal customer service standards and rapport building.


  • Formulate, propose, and execute ideas and solutions to overcome people, resource, and competitive obstacles in order to achieve financial budget/plan and department goals.


Education, Certifications & Experience:

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education & experience

Minimum Experience:


  • 7-10 years experience in Credentialing (or related)


  • 2 years supervisory experience
