Assist Employee Health Manger in providing employee health services within the facility to include (but not limited to): nursing care/first aid; administering of immunizations and inoculations as needed to include associate influenza vaccination program; new hire processing and reasonable suspicion drug screening through a third party arrangement with the Occupational Medicine vendor; annual employee health updates; establishing and maintaining employee health records and employee health reports; managing components of the facility risk reduction/Healthy Work Environment (HWE) program; management of the Workers’ Compensation program. 

 

What you will do in this role:


  • Assess employee injuries to determine appropriateness of care.

  • Conducts annual flu clinics for employees in accordance to regulatory standards and reports in appropriate database.

  • Administers vaccines when needed and records in appropriate immunization database.

  • Serves as liaison with third party Occupational Medicine vendor in coordinating employee health services including new hire processing and ongoing health services.

  • Assist in the Coordination of reasonable suspicion drug screening with Occupational Medicine vendor

  • Conducts ongoing annual employee health required updates for all employees.

  • Maintains employee health records and maintains confidentiality of all health information

  • Assist with components of the facility risk reduction/HWE program to include health and employee safety education, rounding and documenting compliance of the program’s employee health related sections

  • Assist with Workers’ Compensation program to include serving as back-up liaison in managing follow up care with the third party claims administrator, coordinating of the Transitional Duty Program, preparing/maintaining regulatory required reports, and obtaining legal guidance/assistance as needed.

  • Assist with the evaluation of employee exposure to infectious disease, blood & body fluids to include post exposure TB (PPD) skin testing and proper follow-up.

  • Provides guidance on “Fitness for Duty” documentation for employee return to work after Leave of Absence or injury.

  • Adheres to & supports employee health policies and procedures that reflect current standards of practice.

  • Maintains current knowledge of hospital, federal, state, and local laws, OSHA and JCAHO requirements pertaining to employee health.

Qualifications


  • Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations

  • Graduation from an accredited school of registered nursing is required. BSN or MSN preferred

  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification

  • COHN or COHN-S preferred

  • State of Georgia RN License or an Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) required

  • Minimum of 3 years’ recent experience as medical/surgical staff nurse required

  • Experience with worker’s compensation case management is preferred

  • Occupational Health and Safety background/knowledge preferred

  • Previous employee health, medical office, and/or infection control experience preferred

  • Leadership experience is preferred.
