The Quote Specialist helps drive the strategic pricing initiatives for the Hose Products Division. This role will help in the collection of competitive sales data and will proactively quote and maintain the division's nonstandard exception pricing. This position will be responsible for making pricing recommendations where necessary and for updating and creating new pricing guidelines to keep up to date with current market trends and aid in the profitability of the division.

Scope/Supervision and Interaction:

The Quote Specialist reports to the Division Strategic Pricing Manager and does not have supervisory responsibilities. Position support and work directly with the Pricing Department, Product Managers, Field/Inside Sales and distribution channels.

-Daily quotation of the nonstandard product lines. Quotes are maintained in the quote database along with the competitive database. Issues quotes at market pricing with complete focus on increasing market share of division products.

-Maintains a disciplined quote structure for nonstandard pricing. Reviews all requests for quote and appropriately makes decisions which will ultimately improve the profit levels of the division, taking into effect the current market situations and risk to the division.

-Maintains product knowledge with the divisional products but also with major competitors as well. Responsible for keeping competitive information up to date.

-Communicates effectively with all other departments, including Product Managers, Customer Service and Field Sales.

-BS in Business, Accounting or Marketing preferred with 6 years or more years of experience in related fields.

-Strong analytical skills. Excellent computer skills with proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Access.

-Must have excellent communications skills.

-Must maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping pricing information confidential.
