About this role



What will you be responsible for?

The Project Manager is responsible for successful delivery of projects within the IT Portfolio. The role is responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and motivating project teams to achieve a demonstrated level of performance and quality delivering defined outcomes and value to sponsors, partners, and users.

As a key member of the IT Portfolio, this individual partners with Newmont Investment Managers and Leaders to successfully manage one or many medium to large IT projects to conclusion. This individual will also provide mentorship to project members and partners throughout the project lifecycle, while ensuring a demonstrated ability of quality, communications, and overall project governance (scope, schedule, financials). The successful candidate will need to be highly collaborative, organized, critical thinking, and process driven.





Your role will consist of



Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:


  • We run one or multiple medium to large IT projects concurrently.

  • We are responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and motivating project team members to achieve a demonstrated level of performance and quality in delivering projects that provide business value

  • We partner with the investment manager in the project lifecycle including business case and funding request development,

  • We are responsible to ensure that all work associated with 3rd party vendor contracts are delivered and quality checked

  • We are responsible for accuracy of project financial estimates, forecasts and ongoing spend management

  • We perform project schedule management activities including development, monitoring, updating and reporting.

  • We perform issue and risk management activities including development, monitoring and updating of the RAID log for the project, drive issue resolution and risk mitigation at all levels and advance as vital.

  • We support the development of project work you're doing and manage partner communications.

  • We perform project resource management including on-boarding and off-boarding resources.

  • We maintain and coordinate the Project SharePoint site and related Smartsheet information,

  • We lead activities and training for project team development and ensure project team meets project requirements, resolves issues, and demonstrates interpersonal resources where required

  • We ensure alignment to methodologies including stage gates.

  • We lead core project management processes (scope, cost, schedule, resource, communications, quality, risk and procurement) conforming to approved PMO practices.

  • We conduct and documents formal review at the completion of each stage

  • We prepare required weekly and monthly reports, briefings and summaries detailing project activities

  • We perform ad hoc project services as needed

Security specific solutions (software and hardware)

Procedures, documentation, or training

Architecture or overall posture

Experience with security audits or standards

Experience mapping





Working conditions and location



Where you will be located!


  • Primary work location is Denver, CO.

  • Work independently with minimal oversight

  • Occasional travel may be required which may include international destinations

  • Occasional extra hours may be required



The salary range offered for this role is $$83,600 to $109,725. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.  The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.   

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
