Job Description:

This 5G Center of Excellence is looking for a Principal Architect that who will have responsibility for serving as a subject matter technical expert on AT&T’s 5G, MEC, and NEC solution components. As a Principal Architect working in the 5G COE you’ll bring your expert level experience in the areas of 5G and cellular architectures including RAN and packet core topologies to effectively work across internal technical and product organizations to ensure delivered solutions and implementations match customer needs while ensuring contextual technical roadmap alignment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting COE leads, sellers, and other stakeholders with deep technical sales solutioning.
  • Rationalization of technical requirements with labs and/or product design teams.
  • Ensuring customer implementations and solutions align to customer needs, and drive and build optimal design in complex and technical solution architectures.
  • Enables others based on AT&T’s technical differentiation translating in context to specific vertical industry needs.
  • Technical handoff that ensure a proper customer experience

What you bring:

We’re looking for someone with deep to expert technical level practical understanding of the following:

  • Cellular architectures as well as historic view of deltas b/t LTE and 5G
  • RAN and packet core configurations and topologies
  • Spectrum (licensed, shared, and unlicensed)
  • Private cellular network topologies
  • The aggregation point between cellular and wired/cloud implementations.
  • Inherent cellular security as well as how it can be enhanced
  • IOT/smart devices and management
  • Creating customer specific architectures that can inform solution proposals
  • Rationalizing technical requirements to optimize product roadmap
  • Standards bodies like ETSI and 3GPP
  • Drive/build optimal architectures b/t cellular, wired, and cloud agg points
  • How to drive technical education scale internally and externally

Education:

  • Preferred degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, or Math; or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • Typically requires 8-10 years of technical cellular (RAN or Packet Core) experience.
  • Expert level experience in the areas of 5G and cellular architectures including RAN and packet core topologies.
  • Strong ability and desire to challenge the current state with data at all levels to demonstrate where AT&T can and will lead.
  • Strong collaborative and organizational skills to ensure proper customer experience.
  • Empathy and ability to work effectively with customers (internal and external).

Additional Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
