Job Description:

Court TV, the iconic cable network, is back and is looking for Field Producers. The Field Producer is the principle liaison between the court and the network. The producer will cover trials, manage crews in the field and communicate news and information to the newsroom.

Responsibilities


  • Establish and set-up of live shot locations

  • Supervise and manage ENG crews

  • Shoot b-roll; conduct interviews; work with talent in the field

  • Communicate any editorial developments from field to newsroom, show teams and control room

  • Develop contacts and sources

  • Write and produce segments and packages

  • Write daily updates relating to live events

  • Write detailed memos for taped programming

  • Frequent travel

Qualifications


  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience field producing live programming

  • Strong editorial judgement; strong research, writing and package writing skills

  • An interest or passion for true crime stories and a strong interest in live trial coverage

  • Must be able to calmly communicate breaking news and important information during live events

  • Must be an effective team leader with strong people management skills

  • Comfortable communicating with attorneys, judges and courtroom personnel

  • Knowledge of iNews is helpful

  • Ability to cultivate and develop contacts and sources

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent industry experience

Experience:


  • People management skills and team leadership: 1 year (Required)

  • Field producing live programming: 5 years (Required)

  • Knowledge of iNews: 1 year (Preferred)

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)
