If you are a Engineering professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our Sidney, Ohio location, you will perform daily laboratory tasks to complete engineering project assignments. Your focus will be on improving and developing solutions with compressor technologies for HVAC customers throughout the world, beginning here at Emerson in Sidney Ohio.  You will effectively communicate with peers and internal engineering customers in order to take proper actions for success.  You will assemble, analyize, and troubleshoot various products.  You will also be involved in Safety+5S, & other improvement practices.

AS AN ASSOCIATE MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN, YOU WILL: 


  • Adhere to all corporate and laboratory safety standards and poliices, including all EPA regulations

  • Assemble prototype or development type compressors with hand tools, power tools, fixtures, and utilizing other equipment.

  • Maintain and upkeep assembly equipment and work spaces.

  • Operate laboratory test equipment including but not limited to presses, welders, test stands, material handling equipment, and electrical or mechanical measuring devices

  • Communicate technical information related to project statuses to engineers

  • Accurately document assembly or test results

  • Fabricate supporting assembly or test fixtures

  • Meet the physical demands of the role which include manipulation of average to heavy weights (weight range up to 50 lbs.), standing for extended periods of time, use of hand tools, welding, cutting and brazing equipment

  • Work with verbatim compliance with refrigerant handling procedures if assigned.

  • Demonstrate conscientious and ambitious behavior.

  • Follow laboratory assembly or test instructions

  • Work in a team environment and individually.

  • Comply with ISO Standards

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • High School Diploma plus 2-3 years of experience in HVAC/R or mechanical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Good communication skills

  • Basic mechanical skills

  • Basic computer skills

  • Basic understanding of Lean practice

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship for this role will not be provided.


 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  


  • Associates Degree in a Mechanical competency or HVAC/R field or equivalent plus one (1) year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Good troubleshooting & problem solving skills

  • Good computer skills

  • Welding skills

  • Understanding of Lean Principles and their use
