Responsibilities

As the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Manager, you will be part of a small team helping to progress, develop and champion Dematic’s global DE&I strategy, as well as promoting Dematic’s culture and corporate citizenship commitment. In this role, you will partner with colleagues across all departments at Dematic to support the development, planning, management, and delivery of programs, projects, and events related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. You will have a key focus on organization and implementation. As the DE&I Manager you will report to the Vice President, Global Talent Strategy and have an integral part in building actionable tools, programs, metrics and operational outcomes to execute our DE&I strategy in partnership with the communications team. You will also be responsible for leveraging data and metrics to inform our DE&I priorities, define and measure success, train and educate our Executives and our people on why DE&I is a competitive advantage for our company, and influence change at our company and within our industry.  This role is capable of being remote or based at one of locations Wisconsin, Michigan, Atlanta, Texas.  

The role supports Culture related initiatives at the local, departmental, and Companywide level and acts as a liaison between People in the field and Global Headquarters Leaders. The right candidate will be a self-starter with experience creating or improving DE&I programs and processes through both individual and collaborative efforts. They will have a strong ability to build relationships, connect storylines, and manage multiple streams of activity. Additionally, they will be able to demonstrate an ability to communicate and present in a clear and concise manner to various audiences, including Senior Leaders.

  • Drive our workplace diversity, equity and inclusion strategy to align with our culture

  • Grow and lead diversity and inclusion committees in all locations

  • Identify and partner with local and national groups, communities, and people to improve Dematic Corp. as we continue to grow

  • Own in partnership with legal our AAP program and processes to ensure 100% compliance and commitment

  • Audit our current workplace trends (e.g., benefits, culture and engagement, recruitment and selection processes, professional development) through the lens of diversity and inclusion and partner with subject-matter experts to manage meaningful change in policy, process, and administration of business operations

  • Manage the vision, strategy, and execution of diversity and inclusion at Dematic Corp. (create workplace metrics to target for change, create and drive strategy, and partner internally and externally to drive business results)

  • Partner with our L&D team and outside trainers to present trainings and workshops for our people, people leaders, and executives detailing the impact of a diverse workforce on business operations

  • Support and partner with recruiting team to co-develop and implement strategies for recruiting, training, and advancing diversity initiatives

  • Create a culture of inclusion for underrepresented groups

  • Manage a diversity and inclusion plan which includes diversity census results of Dematic Corp.’s diversity and propose effective solutions to close the gap

  • Help lead implementation of DE&I strategy and tactics to support roadmap aligned to our core values, business goals and desired outcomes.

  • Partner across enterprise with HR Business Partners, Learning and Development, Talent Acquisition, Corporate Social responsibility, Marketing, and Communications, and other key stakeholders as needed, to achieve desired DE&I outcomes.

  • Monitor and analyze HR data, understand trends, and report progress to help drive DE&I action plans to stakeholders.

  • Develop and maintain network with external experts and peers in other organizations to stay informed on DE&I trends and best practices

  • Support DE&I Advisory Council, including meeting facilitation, council goals, training and deliverables

  • Identify and manage partnerships with DE&I conferences, professional organizations, and external vendors that engage diverse talent

  • Engage with community groups and external organizations that align to Dematic’s mission, business goals, and interests, especially as it relates to Corporate Citizenship globally.

Qualifications

Role Specific Qualifications


  • 7+ years of experience in a corporate environment


    • Highly preferred with 2+ year of experience in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

    • Experience in Human Resources, Consulting, Communications or Marketing is also preferred.



  • 1+ year of experience analyzing data in Excel strongly preferred

  • 1+ year of experience creating communications (Word/PPT) to engage stakeholders strongly preferred

  • 2+ years of program and project management skills strongly preferred, including; capable of creating and communicating a clear project plan, tracking progress, and keeping stakeholders informed

  • Up to 10% travel

  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of DE&I best practices including effective approaches to attraction, recruitment, selection and engagement

  • Ability to think outside the box to come up with innovative solutions to new challenges

  • A highly effective communicator with the ability to clearly and concisely write and articulate ideas, concepts, and proposals to engage team, peers, and management.

  • Ability to form strategic partnerships and influence key stakeholders such as Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, Communications, Marketing, and Business leaders.

  • Ability to manage ambiguity and complex problem-solving, emerging with strategic plans and deliverables

  • Fluency in data analysis to inform strategies and create metrics and accountability for effective, inclusive business outcomes

  • Strong presentation creation and delivery skills; ability to present information in a clear, concise manner

  • An inherent sense of urgency to drive great results, while being precise in executing work

  • Proven track record of building relationships with and influencing stakeholders and cross-functional teams

  • Proven ability to lead conversations will broad audiences and navigate crucial conversations regarding underrepresented communities, privilege, and equity

  • Proven record of taking initiative/self-starter

Preferred background


  • Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Business Administration, Communication, Marketing, or related field)
