GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the Data Analyst in the Quantitative Translational Imaging in Medicine lab at the Athinoula A. Martinos Center develops machine learning tools and software for applying machine learning to medical imaging data. The QTIM lab works broadly on quantitative and machine learning techniques in medical imaging, with a growing interest in deep learning. The focus is to bridge the gap between machine learning research and clinical practice while offering excellent opportunities to work closely with investigators and study staff to improve the standard of care for patients.
The Data Analyst will support the research in the lab by:
* developing and managing data analysis pipelines
* management of IRB protocols
* developing machine learning based analysis methods
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Imaging data analysis and processing using a variety of processing tools using Python.
* Assisting with data quality assurance and analysis.
* Maintaining data organization
* Building software to extend our research tools to clinical users.
* Working closely with programmers to optimize image analysis
* Organize and/or draft material for the preparation of research papers, manuscripts and other documents for publication and/or presentation.
* Document protocols, procedures, & training in LabArchives.
* Participate in the design of experiments or field work.
* Assist with managing course and training materials.
* Create public-facing wikis to distribute & document our in-house software.
* Assist in managing multi-server GPU clusters and data storage devices.
* Assist members in successfully using and maintaining organization of data storage servers.
The position offers opportunities to participate in publications and to be part of a fast-paced research environment at the intersection of clinical research and advanced neuroimaging analysis.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
* Comfortable using Linux environments and the terminal for running jobs non-interactively.
* Proficiency in Python is required.
* Experience with databases and machine learning packages is preferred.

* Well-developed organizational and analytical skills, excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
* An eagerness to learn new technologies and employ them in day-to-day usage.
* Analytical skills and the ability to resolve technical problems

EDUCATION:
Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree Preferred: Master's Degree
EXPERIENCE:
-1 year of prior experience required
-2 - 3 year's of experience in Linux (UNIX)-based environments is preferred
- 2 - 3 year's of experience with developing data analysis tools in Python is preferred

Most of your work will take place in an office environment on a computer.
