About the Role:

Neurocrine Biosciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: NBIX) is offering the opportunity to gain hands on data analytics experience in a cross functional manufacturing and supply chain environment. You will be helping to support data analytics for the entire Commercial Manufacturing and Supply Chain team through an array of projects in the areas of supply chain planning, inventory management, external manufacturing, sourcing and procurement, as well as logistics.

Your contributions (include, but are not limited to):



  • Working on projects related to Supply Chain Analytics. This includes:



    • Understand and optimize existing data models


    • Ability to connect disparate data sources and query existing data to unearth insights into supply chain performance, trends and opportunities


    • Work side by side with the Supply Chain team to implement key performance indicators that are critical to our success


    • Document and establish continuity across all facets of the data architecture and ad hoc reporting with a focus on: Value-stream mapping (VSM), flow chart and standard operating procedure (SOP) creation




  • Interacting with Commercial, Quality, CMC, IT and Finance areas within the company


  • Completing a special project and presenting the recommendations to senior management upon completion


Requirements:


  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree with an interest in supply chain management, operations management, computer science or data science and must have completed a minimum of two years


  • Familiarity with biopharmaceutical technologies, physical and life sciences, product development, and regulatory approval processes is desirable


  • Proficient in a relevant programming language such as Python or R preferred


  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills


  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with visualization software (example: PowerBI, Tableau)


  • Knowledge of SQL and databases


  • Ability to think creatively and be a team player


  • Offer flexibility with a willingness to work on multiple projects simultaneously


  • Bring to the Company a skill set complementary to its technology and development therapeutics


  • Interest in attending various program events, including social gatherings, career development workshops, and more


  • Ability to commit to a 10-week, full-time summer program
