Houston Healthcare StarTech Patient Care Technician Training Program.
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) delivers high quality,
patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care
services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living.
Under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN), the PCT assists the
nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with the PCT’s
skills/training and the needs of the Department, and consistently assists the
patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient
care environment. The PCT complies with all hospital policies/procedures and observes
the State Board of Nursing rules for unlicensed personnel.
The StarTech Patient Care Technician (PCT)
Program is an integral part of the HCA Healthcare Clinical Standards of
Excellence. This program provides comprehensive blended experience that offers
an opportunity to be trained as a PCT caring for patients in our HCA Healthcare
hospitals.
The StarTech PCT

Attendance is
imperative and all days are required to remain in the program. No days can be
missed.

HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood is a 439-bed acute care facility
that has provided quality care to the Lake Houston area for over 25 years. It
is home to the area’s only comprehensive cardiac, neuroscience and women
services programs. Our Women & Children’s Center provides Level II and III
neonatal intensive care units, high-risk obstetrics, a breast diagnostic
center, a designated pediatric unit, and the area’s only pediatric emergency
department.
HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood is affiliated with HCA Houston
Healthcare, part of the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. The division is a
comprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, emergency
centers and diagnostic imaging facilities in greater Houston, Corpus Christi
and South Texas. Facilities include: 17 hospitals, nine ambulatory care
centers, 13 off-campus emergency centers, and a regional transfer center.
