Job Description:

SUMMARY: Coordination and scheduling of trucks and oversee daily operations of dispatch office.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee daily operations of dispatch office


• Dispatching and coordination/scheduling of trucks on a J.I.T. delivery schedule & in compliance with government regulations, company standards, and customer expectations


• Check Daily shipping plan to build loads


• Appropriate billing for above duties


• Ensure System Integrity (Truckmate, AS400, Outside Customer portals (ex: Dofasco)


• Support & Communicate with the Sales Group to meet special customer requirements and on-time deliveries


• Assist Rates group when requested (ex: carrier quotes, sales quotes)


• Provide system training for all new and current office employees


• Other related duties as assigned

TOOLS & EQUIPMENT USED ON THE JOB (Computer, Programs, Hand Tools, Crane):

• Computer using the following software (MS Word, Excel), TMW Systems, AS400

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, experience, certifications, licences or special skills):

• Dispatch experience


• J.I.T. experience an asset


• Experience working with the Truckmate system an asset


• Ability to work under pressure


• Meet deadline and work effectively both independently and as a member of the team
