Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope®, a CRH company, is the leading supplier of products specified to close the building envelope. They include: custom-engineered curtain wall and window wall, architectural windows, storefront systems, doors, skylights and architectural glass.

We are seeking a part-time Custodian for our Miami facility.  The purpose of this position is to keep the plant in a clean, safe, and orderly condition. The qualified candidate should have previous custodial experience.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

• Gather and empty trash bins


• Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming


• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures


• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees


• Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment


• Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing, and electrical systems


• Drive vehicles required to perform or travel to cleaning work, including vans, industrial trucks, or industrial vacuum cleaners


• Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks


• Clean restrooms and stock them with supplies


• Keep buildings secure by locking doors


• Clean spills and other hazards with appropriate equipment


• Wash windows, walls, and glass


• Order cleaning supplies


• Make minor repairs in buildings, such as changing light bulbs


• Notify managers when a building needs major repairs


• All shop functions required by supervisors are considered essential functions for the job. Regular and predictable attendance, ability to safely perform tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of your job.

 

Requirements

 

• Must speak, read, and understand English


• Previous custodial experience


• Forklift experience


• Ability to lift,  bend, twist, walk, and reach frequently


• Must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 75 lbs. occasionally


• Ability to work in varied temperatures consistent with same climate conditions of the region (Heat, cold, humidity, etc.). The plant is not climate controlled. 


• Must be able to work any shift, overtime and weekends
