Type: Full-Time
The MRI Supervisor will be in charge of running and maintaining the daily operations of the MRI department. The MRI supervisor will be responsible for maintaining all current and future ACR requirements for accreditation. The MRI Supervisor will be a liaison between the radiologists and MRI staff performing staff evaluations on an annual basis. The MRI supervisor will be responsible for all MRI staff along with any future student(s) of a college MRI program that may perform clinical rotations at Augusta Health. The MRI supervisor will be responsible for maintaining all protocol books and QA as needed or necessary for standard operations and accreditation purposes.
Experience Required
The MRI Supervisor should have a minimum of 3 years of technologist experience in the field of MRI and a minimum of 2 years of supervisory or lead tech experience
Education Requirements
Work requires successful completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
High school diploma or GED
License Requirements
• The MRI Supervisor should possess the ARRT (R) registry and ARRT (MR) registry
• CPR certification
Skill Requirements
• Must have experience in performing venipuncture initiating IV access and/or willing to complete the required training in this area.
Essential Functions
• Perform and maintain quarterly QA/QM review for MRI staff and department.
• Responsible for MRI safety protocols, resources, and communication or delegate as appropriate.
• Mentor and counsel MRI staff as appropriate.
• Maintain and review MRI policies for accuracy and dated information.
• Prepare and deliver annual employee performance evaluations and competency reviews.
• Serve as MRI liaison to the Radiologist group.
• Manage MRI Staff work assignments and schedules, coordinate staff PTO, FMLA and training.
• Assist Radiology Director and Radiology Administrative Director in planning and coordinating MRI budget and purchases of equipment.
• Manage ACR accreditation processes and surveys for the MRI department.
• Manage DNV Survey readiness for all DNV or CMS inspections.
• Manage all MRI protocol development and proposed changes with input from Radiologists and Radiology Director as needed.
• Coordinate all preventative maintenance (PM) and repairs through Bio-Med/Clinical Engineering, maintenance or vendor(s).
• Coordinate and proactively manage all patient scheduling blocks and changes through the RIS supervisor for department workflow optimization.
• Oversee the management and coordination of the MRI “safe” pacemaker / defib program.
• Work as a MRI technologist scanning patients, working shifts, and covering for PTO and Holidays as needed.
• Oversee the cleanliness of the MRI area.
