SUMMARY:

Creighton University Athletic Medicine Department is accepting applications for a full-time Athletic Training Intern position available for Spring 2021. This is a 38-hour-per-week, 5-month / one-semester internship. This position runs from January 18th, 2021 to May 31, 2021.

Reporting to the Head Athletic Trainer and under supervision of the Team Physician, the Certified Athletic Trainer Intern will oversee the medical care and rehabilitation of Creighton student-athletes. Primary sport assignment is Softball with secondary sport assignments of Men's and Women's Cross Country. Assist in the coordination of healthcare for all Creighton athletes through prevention, recognition, management and treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and illnesses. Assist in coordination of athletic training room and facilities; including record keeping, inventory, data entry, etc. Other related duties as assigned. Working early mornings, nights, weekends, and overnight travel is required. Daily schedule varies.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree.

Required Licenses/Certifications:
NATABOC certified or eligible, eligible for Nebraska license, first aid certification, CPR for the professional rescuer.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
Knowledge of coaching principles and techniques
Interest in recruiting talent
Knowledge of strength and conditioning techniques
