Summary:
The Communications Specialist, under the direction of the Director of Communications, writes and edits content for a variety of Creighton University publications, both internal and external, and serves as a member of the team that shapes and executes communications strategy for Creighton, supporting its primary recruitment, reputation, visibility and fundraising objectives. This position also performs a managing editor role for Creighton Today , overseeing this internal electronic publication as a vehicle to keep faculty and staff well-informed and to enhance engagement and community-building among this constituency. In addition, this position serves as the primary communications liasion with Human Resouces, providing counsel and strategy for internal communications, and helps coordinate communications projects for Creighton's University Communications and Marketing (UCOM) Department.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in journalism, communications, marketing or similar area of study, plus two years of communications experience, preferably in a news/publications or other content-production capacity. Demonstrable writing and editing ability, with thorough knowledge of AP style; experience working on deadline and collaborating with a team; experience with publishing/content-management software/platforms.
