The North America Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, developing and pursuing Measurement Solutions - Systems (MSS) opportunities in North America incorporating products from Flow, Measurement and Analytical in addition to other products from Emerson; and working directly with end users and EPCs, engaging the appropriate sales channels, to achieve the corresponding bookings and sales targets.

 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

 



  • Deliver business performance that meets or exceeds POR commitments including orders and sales targets for the NA MSS Business




  • Develop effective business development strategies working closely with the EMR GP3 Pursuit Team, Measurement Solutions Strategic Accounts and EMR Sales Channel to meet business targets.




  • Manage and develop business relationship with key accounts together with sales channel.  Provide them with direct technical support to their technical questions if needed.  Participate in road shows and provide support in Brand positioning.




  • Create marketing and business development processes that identify new business opportunities and develop new initiatives in order to achieve year-on-year growth expectation.  Analyze and develop growth strategies in under penetrated areas.




  • Collaborate as an active member of the North American EMR Sales Organization.  Dynamically achieve leverage and collaboration in support of the Strategic Priorities of the EMR Automation and NA Measurement Solutions strategic plans.




  • Conduct due diligence for contracts and orders with sales channel and negotiate terms and conditions in contract documents/orders with customers.




  • Demonstrate highly effective global collaboration with Measurement Solutions – Systems global Center of Excellence throughout the quote to cash engagement cycle.  This includes, but is not limited to, proposal, project management, engineering, fabrication and supply chain teams and work processes. 

     




Education / Experience / Language skills required:


  • Bachelor's degree required, Engineering preferred.

  • 7+ years relevant business development experience, including account management, project pursuit and consultative selling with large and matrixed organizations.


  • Proven experience calling on major EPCs and in the pursuing of capital projects in the Gulf Region (Texas and Louisiana).




  • Knowledge of the automation industry, including instrumentation and control.  




  • Knowledge of the engineered solutions industry, including applications for liquid and gas measurement is highly desired.     




  • Must be able and willing to travel as required both domestically (frequently) and internationally (occasionally) up to 75% (post-COVID restrictions).




  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
