You.

You bring your body, mind, heart and spirit to your work as a Critical Care Shift Specialty Coordinator / Charge Registered Nurse.

Your compassion is tangible: patients feel it in the hand they hold. Families feel it in your prayers. Colleagues feel it in your support.

You know how to stay organized and move fast. You respond calmly in high pressure situations.

You're great at what you do, but you want to be part of something even greater. Because you believe that while individuals can be strong, the right team is invincible.

Us.

At Good Samaritan, we have an active Unit Practice Council that strives to develop and implement evidence-based practice changes that directly impact our patients' outcomes, which we feel has contributed to our excellent CAUTTI, CLABSI and VAE rates compared to national benchmarks.  Between our nursing clinical ladder program and financial support for achieving certifications, there are many opportunities to advance your clinical expertise here.

In addition to being an accredited chest pain and stroke center, we have seen a significant increase in our neuro-trauma cases, leading to a diverse critical care patient population.  We always focus on putting our patients first, which is evident through our hourly rounding, bedside reports, and manageable nurse-to-patient ratios.  We are proud to be an accredited Chest Pain Center & Cardiovascular Center of Excellence, a Primary Stroke Center, and a Level II Trauma Center.

Good Samaritan Medical Center is part of SCL Health, a faith-based, nonprofit healthcare organization that focuses on person-centered care. At our 234-bed Level II Trauma Center, our mission is to bring health and hope to the poor, the vulnerable, our communities and each other. We're especially proud of our people, who helped make us one of America's 100 Best Hospitals according to Healthgrades.

Benefits are one of the ways we encourage health for you and your family. Our generous package includes medical, dental and vision coverage. But health is more than a well-working body: it encompasses body, mind and social well-being. To that end, we've launched a Healthy Living program to address your holistic health. Healthy Living includes financial incentives, digital tools, tobacco cessation, classes, counseling and paid time off. We also offer financial wellness tools and retirement planning.

We.

Together we'll align mission and careers, values and workplace. We'll honor each other's dignity and surpass the standards we set. We'll encourage joy, demand safety and take pride in our integrity.

We'll laugh at each other's jokes (even the bad ones). We'll hello and high five. We'll celebrate milestones and acknowledge the value of spirituality in healing.

We're proud of what we know, which includes how much there is to learn.

Your day.

As a Critical Care SSC / Charge RN, you need to know how to:

  • Supervise and/or provide direct patient care. Assist and support staff in responding to and problem solving situations related to patient/ family complaints, Physician concerns, risk management, associate safety, and Hospital safety.

  • Support unit management team in managing department productivity/staffing and timekeeping, and coordinating unit activities.

  • Perform evaluations, coaching and disciplinary actions as needed.

  • Participate in hospital committees as unit representative as needed.

Your experience.

We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require:
