Ideal candidate for this role is someone with a strong background in P&C underwriting business processes, workflow knowledge, system and data analysis who is eager to work on developing innovative solutions on complex underwriting decision areas/processes. You will be at the front and center of developing business requirements for an AI driven underwriting application working closely with Business SMEs, Product Owner, Program Manager, Data Scientists, Data Engineers and IT. The application features AI automated solutions around information gathering, classification, risk appetite etc. and will be used by Field Underwriters, UAs, Home-Office Underwriters and Risk Engineers to handle newline submissions.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary resource to develop business requirements and data mapping documents to integrate underwriting data, such as, submission application data, risk engineering data, CAT data etc.
Develop business requirements and data mapping rules to integrate with external data vendors that provide firmographic, property, building, satellite imagery and underlying risk data
Document User-Stories and Acceptance Criteria in JIRA
Document underwriting business processes workflow, system and data integration flowcharts
Develop ETL rules for creating new data attributes; conflation rules and confidence score logic for merging data from different systems
Work closely with Digital IT to enhance the underwriting application; participate in scrum meetings; Act as a subject matter expert to provide business support in defining requirements
Perform User-Acceptance Testing of the application
Support application deployment; provide training to end-users and serve as the primary contact for resolving any production issues
Create usage reports; measure performance of data solutions implemented via API’s
Utilize data analysis skills within and outside of the developing Chubb information ecosystem for discovery, analytics and solution engineering
Work closely with the Data Science and Data Engineering team to develop machine learning models; provide business support; define data contract and API orchestration rules
Bachelors in Computer Science, Information Systems or related educational background
5+ years of work experience as Business/Systems/Data/Product Analyst in Property & Casualty insurance
Strong knowledge of SDLC, project life cycle and Agile methodologies
Demonstrated knowledge of P&C Insurance concepts and business data
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in business data definition, data profiling and data mapping analysis
Excellent working knowledge of SQL & experience querying big data platforms, relational databases, MySQL, Oracle, DB2 etc.
Excellent understanding of how technology impacts the business
Must have strong business acumen as well as technical solutions expertise
Strong ability to independently perform analysis of business workflow, and technology issues to facilitate decision-making
Multi-tasking along with strong organization and time management skills is a must
