Parkland Medical Center, an 86 bed acute care facility, is located in the heart of Derry, New Hampshire.  We are a Trauma III facility that offers a wide range of services such as heart and vascular care, robotics surgery, interventional spine and pain care, and behavioral health. Through our partnerships with The Lahey Hospital & Medical Center and the New England Heart Institute (NEHI), we bring specialized medicine by highly skilled physicians, innovative approaches to treatment and advanced technology to our communities.

 

The Director Cardiovascular Services is responsible for supporting, communicating, coordinating and implementing the strategic planning process for the Cardiology Service Line and Cardiology Operations. Responsibilities also include identification and execution of business development opportunities and strategies, communicating expectations of the organization to employees and ensuring 24 hour coverage for Cardiology Services.


  • In collaboration with the Administrative team, participates in the strategic planning process and planning cycle, ensuring that the framework and process focus on the strategic business drivers for the facility which include growth, service, quality, people, financial, and critical community and internal relationships.

  • In collaboration with other directors or leaders, ensures the alignment and integration of the facility, around the strategic business plans, including the projection of capital, operating, information technology, and human resources needs.

  • Establishes and coordinates a process for ensuring accountability and communication around progress made on strategic initiatives; facilitates support and collaboration from resources to ensure successful execution of department and facility strategic business plans.

  • In collaboration with the VP Operations, monitors department operating performance.

  • In collaboration with facility senior leaders, serves as a change agent for critical operational change.

  • In collaboration with Human Resources, ensures that staff performance goals and development plans are implemented that encourage employee professional growth and development and support the strategic plans of the facility.

  • Serves as a customer lead to identify issues and risks, to collect information for decision-making, and to provide value-added services to the key business drivers. Ensures availability of key information required for decision-making

  • Participates in the management of existing physician.

  • Meets Parkland Medical Center standards related to:



      • Patient safety: reports actual or potential medical/health care errors, near misses or other opportunities to improve patient safety; participates in safety education, safety, quality and performance improvement initiatives.

      • Customer service/patient centered care: shows genuine concern, respect and ability to communicate cordially with patients, visitors, physicians and employees; is sensitive to customer inconveniences and responds accordingly.

      • Confidentiality, compliance, patient/provider rights: adheres to corporate and professional codes of conduct, Standards of Excellence, HIPPA privacy standards.





  • Promotes internal and external customer satisfaction.

  • Builds and promotes a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Attendance: works as scheduled and is compliant with Attendance and Tardiness Policy.

Qualifications

Education & Qualifications:


  • Required: Current NH RN, American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS, American Heart Association or American Red Cross ACLS; Bachelor of Science. Masters in healthcare or business administration preferred.

  • Preferred:  Minimum 3-5 years in an acute care facility with clinical cardiovascular nursing experience and progressive management experience.
